Your paint takes a beating every day from UV rays, bird droppings, tree sap, water spots, and automatic tunnel car washes that can leave behind swirl marks and micro scratches.
Wax wears off in weeks, while spray sealants offer shorter term protection. Ceramic coating is different. It’s a semi permanent glass like layer that bonds to your paint and provides durable protection for years.
The result is a deeper gloss, a smoother finish, and a highly hydrophobic surface that helps repel water, dirt, and grime. That means your paint stays cleaner between washes and is easier to maintain, while the coating provides lasting protection against the elements.
Constant sun exposure breaks down the clear coat over time, leading to fading, oxidation, and a dull finish.
Automatic tunnel car washes and improper washing can leave swirl marks and micro scratches in your clear coat. Over time, they dull the paint and can require paint correction to restore the finish.
Hard water leaves behind mineral deposits that can bond to the paint. If they sit for too long, they can etch into the clear coat and become much harder to remove.
Road grime, tar, and other contaminants can bond to the paint and become increasingly difficult to remove. Left on the surface, they can stain or damage the finish over time.

Simplified Into 3 Steps
To better understand ceramic coating prices, it’s important to understand what goes into properly preparing and coating the paint.
We begin with a thorough exterior wash and decontamination to remove dirt, grime, and bonded contaminants from the paint.
We restore the paint by removing or reducing swirl marks, light scratches, and other imperfections before the coating is applied.
We hand apply your ceramic coating to create a deep gloss, hydrophobic surface, and durable protection.
Before applying a ceramic coating, the paint needs to be completely clean and free of anything that could interfere with the coating bonding properly.
We start with a thorough pre wash and hand wash to safely remove as much surface dirt as possible. From there, we use an iron remover to break down bonded iron particles that regular washing cannot remove.
Next, we clay bar the paint to remove the remaining bonded contaminants. Even when paint looks clean, it can still feel rough or bumpy to the touch from contaminants stuck to the surface. Clay bar treatment leaves the paint smooth and ready for the next step.
We finish the preparation with a final wipe down to remove any remaining oils, waxes, or other products from the paint before moving into paint correction.
Once the paint has been properly cleaned and decontaminated, we can address the imperfections in the clear coat.
Depending on the condition of the vehicle, paint correction can reduce or remove swirl marks, light scratches, water spots, oxidation, and other imperfections. Correcting the paint first also gives the ceramic coating a clean, smooth surface to bond to.
We offer two levels of correction depending on the condition of the paint and how much correction is needed. Paint enhancement focuses on improving the overall gloss and reducing lighter imperfections, while paint correction involves more aggressive polishing to remove a higher amount of defects.
After the paint has been washed, decontaminated, corrected, and properly prepared, it’s time to apply the ceramic coating.
We carefully apply the coating by hand to the paint and body work, allowing it to bond to the prepared surface. Once cured, the coating creates a durable protective layer with a deep gloss and highly hydrophobic surface.
This helps repel water, dirt, and grime while making the vehicle easier to maintain and providing long term protection for the paint.

Ceramic coating safeguards your vehicle’s paint by forming a resilient, shell-like layer that bonds to the top coat. This protective barrier not only preserves the paint but also imparts a glossy, hydrophobic layer that effectively repels water, dirt, and debris, ensuring your car remains stunning and well-protected.
When a surface is described as “hydrophobic,” it typically refers to the state of a vehicle’s paint that exhibits exceptional water-repellent properties. When water comes into contact with such a surface, it forms beads that effortlessly slide off the vehicle, leaving little to no residual moisture. This characteristic is highly advantageous in preventing unsightly water spots.
While the auto detailing industry certainly has a wide range of alternative paint protection solutions for you to work with, ceramic coatings like the ones I install here at Pro Exclusive Mobile Detailing should be handled by a professional. Based on the ease of which they can be incorrectly installed, it is risky for a consumer to apply themselves.
Yes. Our ceramic coatings are designed to provide long term protection and can last for years with proper maintenance. How long the coating lasts depends on the coating selected, how the vehicle is maintained, and how it is used.
It is not necessary for you to be there the entire time. We just need access to your vehicle and a space large enough to get the job done.
Regular washing is still required with ceramic coating. However, it makes cleaning easier and minimizes the possibility of pollutants attaching to the surface, reducing the frequency and effort necessary for maintenance.
A ceramic coating can be applied without paint correction, but we recommend correcting the paint first if there are noticeable swirl marks or other imperfections. The coating protects the paint as it is, so any existing defects will still be visible after the coating is applied.
Ceramic coatings are for anyone who wants long-lasting protection installed on their car. If you want to experience an easier time maintaining and washing your vehicle, then a coating will give you that.
The only difference between a brand new car and a used car is the amount of prep work needed before the coating can go on.
Yes. A new car is a great time to ceramic coat the paint because it gives you long term protection before the paint starts to develop more contamination, water spots, and swirl marks.
Ceramic coating also makes the vehicle easier to maintain by creating a hydrophobic surface that helps repel water, dirt, and grime.
We recommend washing your vehicle at least once a month to keep the coating performing properly and the paint looking glossy. Proper washing methods will also help prevent new swirl marks and micro scratches.
We do not recommend automatic tunnel car washes, as the brushes and harsh cleaning methods can cause swirls and micro scratches and may wear down the coating over time.
For maintenance, use a pH neutral car shampoo and products that are compatible with your ceramic coating. With proper care, your coating will continue to provide strong hydrophobic protection and make the vehicle easier to clean.
